Another week has flown by
The weeks are going really quickly. So odd, as last year dragged so much. It's still cold.
Nothing much exciting happened this week, just a few practical labs looking a specimens under microscopes (which I hate as I'm half blind and can't look down them properly, and it gives me a headache). The usual few DLs. I've now got 6 weeks of EMS booked. Which is sort of a relief. Still got 4 more to book and I've not decided what to do as yet or where to go. So far I've got 2 weeks Small Animal at a practice at home I spent a lot of time at, 2 weeks at a mixed practice at home that I've never been too but they sound nice and 2 weeks at a purely equine practice near Ripon. I've written to loads more but they're either not suitable or just haven't replied. I hate ringing as they always fob you off and say they'll ring back at don't. I think harrassment is the key. I'm really starting to want to go home again, but I can't seem to get a train. I work on Saturdays till 3 in London so I have to get a train after then... the only tickets available in advance are for the 2:21 (taking 5hrs to Leeds, what's with that?! Must be works on the line) and the 22:21 taking 14:53 minutes to Harrogate. As when I get to Leeds, I miss the last train to Harrogate. So my other option is drive 4 hours each way in the space of 24hrs forjust one night at home. And I hate driving long distances as it is. My Mum is going to visit my Grandma (with one of the dogs!) on Monday, so I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday off for some time away. Only got a few lectures so should be too bad. I feel a need a break from vet stuff so this is a good opportunity for some family time. And good food! I'm still always tired, even though I'm not doing much. Monday I have a dentistry practical where we do our first tooth extraction on a cadaver. Should be fun... Hopefully I won't break the jaw on my first attempt. 0 comments |
